A catch-all mailbox receives messages sent to inactive addresses under the very same domain. For example, an email message sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. Thus, you can get email messages from colleagues or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an old one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Just one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at a certain moment you may begin receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation means that the spam will not be received in a third-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all email address can be configured with several clicks if you have a Linux semi-dedicated hosting service with us. The hosting account will be managed through our custom-developed Hepsia Control Panel and you will be able to set up email addresses with any domain hosted here. To activate the catch-all option for a particular mailbox, you will need to click on the sign with the same name, which will be on the right-hand side of each email address. Disabling the feature can be accomplished in the same fashion and will not require more than one click either. In case a catch-all mailbox has already been enabled for a particular domain, you’ll receive a warning note. The same is valid if the mailbox that you want to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never modify or deactivate anything automatically.
