FTP Accounts
What's FTP? What?s an FTP account? When do you need to have one?
FTP, or File Transfer Protocol, is the most famous means for uploading web files to a hosting account. Using an FTP program that’s pre-installed on your desktop PC or laptop, you can make a connection to your website hosting server and copy all the web files that you need with a couple of mouse clicks. This is done via an easy-to-navigate interface and it is as simple as dragging ‘n’ dropping the abovementioned files. The advantage of using File Transfer Protocol is the fact that you will be able to create separate accounts, each with a different level of access to your web space, so if you’d like to give somebody access, for instance – a web designer, they’ll be able to access only one particular directory and won’t be able to see the remaining web content or any other info, including personal details. Three things are compulsory in order to be able to connect via FTP – a hostname, which is normally an IP or a domain name, a username and a password.

FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Servers
When you host your websites in a
semi-dedicated server account, you will be able to create a separate FTP account for each one of them, as we have not restricted this functionality with any of our plans. You can accomplish this via the FTP section of our easy-to-work-with Hepsia Control Panel where you can also view the full list of all the FTP accounts that you have set up, along with the folder that each one can connect to. If necessary, you’ll be able to update the password for a particular FTP account or to update its access path with a couple of clicks. You can also delete an account effortlessly in case you do not require it anymore – for example, if you have hired a developer who’s done with the site and you don’t want them to be able to access your files any longer. For your convenience, we’ve compiled different video tutorials, which will help you manage your FTP accounts without efforts in case you have never used a web hosting plan before.
